Fourth grade is all about fostering independence and helping students to build upon the skills they have already learned.
Reading
In conjuction with reading in school, students also need to be reading at home! Nightly reading is manageable for most 4th graders, but the length of time may vary from student to student. Choosing the right book is very important in helping our readers to improve. The picture to the left shows how to check in with your child to make sure the book he or she is reading is not too hard and not too easy! And since so many parents have expressed interest in helping with the reading process at home, below are some suggestions for how to make reading a fun part of family life!
